The Butterfly

See Hebrews 2:12-15

Quickly the caterpillar perceives, there’s more to life than slinking
To determine who she really is, she has to go deep and then act by thinking
She enters a cocoon to find safe shelter, when her life’s in need of changing

She’s wrapped in quiet innocence, while she intentionally improves within
She’s willing to make the sacrifice, to go where she’s never been
That’s when she finds herself; it’s there she will begin

After growing and increasing, she comes forth, a newer living being
She comes out right, towards God’s light, to try her new found wings
Then behold, she fascinates, at the beauty God’s world does bring

This metamorphosis happens, within human beings too
Christ wraps us in His loving light, and shows His love is true
As we come unto Christ, through His love, we too, begin anew

When we let Him in, we’ll emerge with wings, from our hardened stiff cocoon
We’ll come out right, towards God’s light, with wings softer than clouds at noon
He’ll teach us each, how to fly, then we’ll thrive in His world, full bloom
